Mission, Vision and Core Values

Mission
To unite and empower workers across Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties through collective action, political engagement, and community partnerships, advocating for economic justice, labor rights, and social equity for all working people.
Vision
A vibrant and inclusive South Florida where every worker has a voice, fair wages, safe working conditions, and the power to shape a just and equitable future.
What We Care About
Standing Together, Always
Solidarity is our superpower. When workers unite across sectors, industries, and identities, we build unstoppable momentum. We believe no fight should be fought alone and no worker left behind. We show up for each other—on strike lines, in legislative battles, and in moments of crisis. Solidarity turns individual struggles into collective victories.
Stat: Unionized workers are 60% more likely to have employer-provided health insurance than their non-union counterparts (BLS, 2023).
Fairness for Every Worker
We fight for a world where race, age, gender, immigration status, job title or a disability never determine your pay, safety, or voice. Equity is about removing the structural barriers that keep people stuck in cycles of low wages and limited opportunity. We champion policies that uplift the most vulnerable because fairness is only real when it reaches everyone.
Stat: Women in unions earn 94 cents for every dollar earned by unionized men—far better than the national average of 82 cents (EPI, 2022).
A Voice That Counts
True democracy means workers have real power—not just in elections, but at work. We believe every worker deserves a voice in decisions that affect their job, safety, and future. Through union democracy and civic engagement, we build leadership from the ground up and fight for policies that protect and reflect worker needs.
Stat: Union members are more than twice as likely to participate in elections compared to non-union workers (American Political Science Review, 2021).
Building Power From the Ground Up
We organize not just to improve conditions—but to change who holds the power. Education, leadership development, and direct action are how we empower workers to lead movements, run campaigns, and challenge the status quo. We believe power should grow from the bottom up, not be handed down from the top.
Stat: Nearly 70% of Americans now support labor unions—the highest level since 1965 (Gallup, 2023).
Respect Is Non-Negotiable
Dignity isn’t optional—it’s a right. Every worker deserves to be treated with respect, no matter their role, income, or industry. We fight against exploitation, harassment, and unsafe conditions. Respect means being heard, valued, and protected—at every level. When workers are treated with dignity, workplaces thrive.
Stat: Nearly one in five workers reports being treated unfairly or disrespectfully on the job—disproportionately impacting low-wage and non-union workers (Pew Research, 2023).
Staying Strong Through Every Storm
The path to justice is never easy—but we don’t give up. Through economic hardship, union-busting tactics, and political threats, we keep going. Resilience is part of who we are. We adapt, organize, and rebuild—stronger each time. Our movement is powered by courage and grounded in the unshakable belief that workers deserve better.
Stat: Workers involved in union campaigns face employer opposition 41% of the time, including firings, intimidation, and retaliation (NLRB, 2022).
