Domestic Workers Bill of Rights Campaign

Outdated labor laws have excluded domestic workers for far too long—denying us basic rights and protections simply because of who we are and the work we do. The Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights will finally recognize our labor, our dignity, and our humanity.

We care for South Florida’s children, elders, and homes—but without contracts, paid leave, or protection from abuse, we’re left vulnerable and invisible.

Now, we’re organizing to change that.

The Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights is a priority campaign of the South Florida AFL-CIO. If passed in Miami-Dade County, it would:

• Guarantee written employment contracts
• Provide living wages, paid time off, and benefits
• Protect against harassment, retaliation, and discrimination
• Establish clear enforcement and education programs in multiple languages

Stronger protections mean safer homes, more secure jobs, and dignity for the workers who make life possible for so many families.
