South Florida AFL-CIO Labor Roundtable with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker
On Thursday, April 2, a labor roundtable was held with Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, co-sponsored by the South Florida AFL-CIO and Teamsters Local 769. The event took place from 2:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and brought together a diverse group of labor leaders and community partners for a dynamic and engaging discussion.
The roundtable focused on key issues, including politics, state legislation, and the challenges facing unions and working families in Florida. Governor Pritzker participated in an open dialogue, seeking firsthand insight into the concerns and priorities of workers and labor organizations in the region.
Attendees included representatives from the South Florida AFL-CIO, Teamsters Local 769, IBEW Local 349, OPEIU Local 277, United Teachers of Dade (UTD), SEIU Local 1991, IUPAT District Council 78, AFSCME International, SEIU Local FPSU, SEIU Local 1199, AFT Local 4253, AFSCME Retirees, the Florida Alliance for Retired Americans (FLARA), and community partner WeCount.
